Samgyeopsal Night

Most of my family knows that I am a big fan of "Korean Teledramas", and because of that I am really keen to try their food especially "Kimchi"; which is one of their traditional dishes. When I went on holiday to my beloved country the Philippines just recently, my cousins held a "Samgyeopsal"party at their condominium. Basically it's a Korean BBQ party! I was really excited and looking forward to trying the kimchi that night. I also wanted to try the "Soju" (Korean Alcohol), but sadly there was no Soju available at the nearest Korean store, and it was getting late. I was gutted. However, the party begins!
We started cooking the BBQ and kimchi.. and it was fun fun fun.. We washed it down with our own Philippine Alcohol..

And here's how you eat it (look at my sister!). You wrap the meat, kimchi, spicy paste, onion and garlic in a lettuce leaf. I just couldn't eat the whole thing in one go! It's just too big for my mouth but that's how you eat it..

Then we finished the night with "Ramyun" or "Ramen". It was really spicy, but it's so addictive. My cousin put all the leftover meat and kimchi into the Ramen; it was a great combination!

Here's the result.. Yum!

I had a great night. I didn't expect to be having a Samgyeopsal party with my cousins and sister. Thanks to them!
I would definitely like to do it again with more Korean dishes, hopefully with Soju to complete the theme. It would be great!
Hope you enjoyed reading this short blog.. Watch out for my next update, which will be titled, "What I ate in the Philippines". I can't wait to show you.. Catch you later.. x
