Duntulm Castle

Oh my, as much as I love visiting old ruins castles. There's nothing can take my breathe away from the view of Trotternish Peninsula and the Rocky Mountains around Duntulm Castle. The view is just breathtaking! It could have been perfect if the castle was still standing itself.

We drove from Staffin to Duntulm Castle which took less than 30 minutes drive. I don't know how many times I'm going to say how beautiful Skye is. We were driving on the long and winding road with cliffs welcoming you! You are literally driving uphill and you can tell you're on top of the mountains. I was so amazed and at the same time I feel sorry for hubby and our car, Broom. But they did it! How adventurous but dangerous. Was it worth the visit? 100%!! It wasn't the castle that amazed me but the breathtaking view. You will be surprised how many houses are there. You are literally living in a million dollar view. It was surreal!

The Duntulm Castle is just a small castle that was sitting on top of the cliff with the perfect mountain backdrop and overlooking Trotternish peninsula. There's nothing much to see in the castle but the view. There was also a beach nearby just beside the castle on the right side if you look down. But I don't know how to get there. I didn't know there was a beach until I keep hearing noises. At first, I thought I was going crazy coz I keep hearing voices but I couldn't figure out where it's coming from. Coz there were no people out there just me and my husband. Then the closer I got to the castle I saw the beach peeking through and a few people were swimming including the dog. Such a paradise! If I only brought swimsuits I could have tried the water. It was so tempting! The weather was just so perfect. It was warm and sunny!
